I planned on getting so much more done but at the same time I’m proud of what I achieved over the weekend.
1. Terrain. I wanted to nut out three Mordheim-ish type buildings, I managed two. They still need some detailing.
2. I had a few beers, then quite a few more. Then I thought I’d change it up a bit by drinking some scotch followed by more beer.
3. I watched the following movies: The Usual Suspects, Apocalypse Now, Pulp Fiction and Carnage Park.
4. I visited a pal.
5. I did more terrain work including a wargaming board and a Throne of Bones. I also made some scatter hills. All of which still need more work.
I wanted a board that could be used for just about any setting from WWII to Mordheim.
The “Knight” statue was purchased from a castle I visited in the U.K. Back in 2008.
Even though I didn’t paint any minis I feel I achieved a fair bit.
Now the tidy up. Sigh……
Fantastic work, mate. Very impressive for a single weekend!

All very effective terrain and the reduced palette and subdued colours make it look quite a bit more naturalistic. Given it takes me weeks to finish stuff you can be proud to get so much done in one weekend!

Thank you Dagger. I wanted a fairly natural look to the whole thing.

What’s your flavour of scotch? Personally I’m an Ardbeg and Talisker fan.

I keep it simple and “neat” with Johnny Walker Blue.

Have you synched Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon with the Wizard of Oz? If not I recommend doing so with some scotch in your hand. I had a scotch night with some mates and we did exactly that. It was a great night. Read up on where to sync the album and it is eerie how well the album and movie go together.

Ahhh yes. I heard about that but it was my understanding that another type of drug was involved.

Yes, many have used that particular substance with Oz and Floyd. I have never partaken in it and have no desire to. Scotch was a fine partner during the night.

That is an impressive amount of work for a week end- especially adding in 4 films and all the beer and Whiskey.
Cheers,
Pete.

… and a good use for a knight figurine you’ve had kicking around for a few years.

Nice looking scenery! Still plenty done during the weekend, although I feel you’ve played down mowing the lawns! It would have been “interesting” to maybe have read about how drinking beer and whisky and then cutting the grass with a lightsabre would have turned out! Probably similar to that excellent dark, scorched, atmospheric effect you’ve got with the scenery!
