Necromunda is alive

I won’t lie to you, I really didn’t know much about Necromunda until I started this blog a couple years ago. A lot of you hobby veterans bang on about it so I did my research and decided YES it’s my cup of tea. Unruly gangs running about in the underhive trying to wipe each other out! What’s not to like eh?

So now they’re re-doing it. GW know how to make money that’s for dang sure haha.

Heres the link, thought I did whelp spread the word.

So, as some of you may know, I don’t really play any games. Occasionally I do. So for me this re-release is all about the multi part plastic kits. I can’t wait to see what’s on offer. I’ve also liked the terrain I’ve seen for underhives and will, no doubt, delve into making my own.

Now there’s only one last thing to say about all this… GIVE ME PLASTIC MORDHEIM and PRAETORIAN KITS DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!

Thank you and goodnight

  1. I’m really interested to see what they do. No surprises though that so far I reckon the old metal models are far superior than the new ones! The new Goliaths look good, a bit mad max style perhaps, but the new Escher so far are doing nothing for me.

      1. Haha yeh maybe! Like an Egyptian pharaoh buried with all his treasures ready for the next life.
Seriously though, I actually prefer one piece models for building armies as it is way quicker and to be honest most people’s skills of composing a miniature are not as good as those of a professional so the professionally designed ones are laid out better.
Also the old Jes Goodwin Escher are things of beauty. These new ones just,,, aren’t.

  2. Necromunda is my favorite game that I have never played. I even have an old Delaque gang that I am painting right now… so they might be done in about 6 months! I skipped SW:A because I was spending too much on Blood Bowl, but I am definitely in for Necro!

  3. I picked up the old game from a charity shop a few years back just for the scenery, and used to play the original (I really don’t want to know how many years back), I had a Delaque gang that I sold on at a show many years ago when it went out of fashion at my old club. It was a fun game as I recall.

Everything old is new as they say.

    Cheers Roger.

  4. Mixed views about this. I loved Necromunda when it first came out- played it weekly. I like the direction GW has been moving in recently but for every cool thing I find something I don’t like at all… watch this space to see if I succumb I guess.

      1. Kind of hard to explain- I’m not 16 and just starting college like I was back then… guess it may be the case of being happier to keep it as a nostalgic memory.

Dunno if that makes things clearer or not…?

  5. It’s such good news. I’m going to invest but I’ll be making my gang a Brat Gang from the original idea of Necromunda called Confrontation. Oh so many years ago but I still have the WD’s with all the fluff and art.

  6. Good news, I’ve always enjoyed your warbands, and I can’t wait to see what you do with some Necromunda gang sprues!

I still have my old Van Saar gang under the house, and deciding to paint up some ash wastes terrain boards looks like a genius move now!
