Swarm part 4

In part 3 TIM was concerned about the plastic pile Iโ€™m creating hehehe.

Its a fair concern but the challenge Iโ€™ve given myself for the remainder of 2019 is to build and paint a Tyranid/Genestealer army. So yes the pile will be big but the plan is to complete the whole thing by the 31st of December 2019 so it wonโ€™t be, canโ€™t be MASSIVE.

Please note that there will be lots of B&W photos of built minis before o start painting.

Mr Wudugast suggested I break up the challenge with, essentially, little side projects. Eg paint a guardsman or something. Iโ€™ll definitely do this and have a couple of minis in my sights that I might tackle soonish.

Ok so here we are with Part 4 already. I think the blog momentum actually helps with the project momentum and vice versa.

In this post Iโ€™ll be showing you a couple of leaders and some more troops.

First up is Shryth Covenghast the leader of The Spawn. (Remember Spawn is: Human with a hint of Tyranid). Note the Nid creeping out of the pipe behind him.

Then we have Kalis Mor Vennerdro, leader of The Enlightened (Psyker, priest, warriors).

I still need to make a leader for The Hatebreed. (Mostly Tyranid with a hint of Human). Also a leader for The Evolved (All Tyranid).

Some more troops. First for the Spawn.

Then some brutes for The Hatebreed. Iโ€™m really pleased with these ones. Some tricky carving work with these plastic monstrosities but I had an absolute ball building them.

Not a lot else to say in this post apart from that I am really enjoying building and converting this army as I knew I would. As you probably know, itโ€™s my favourite aspect of the hobby! I think Iโ€™m getting old because Iโ€™m repeating myself a lot haha.

Happy hobbying kids.

  1. Some very cool and gribbly stuff there once again mate. That daemonette claw works well on a genestealer, hadn’t thought of that but I’ve filed it away in the old grey matter for future consideration. That very first image in which it appears that a genestealer is reaching out of the shadows to snatch the central figure is deliciously creepy. Great work all round!

    1. No Deamonettes here man. The kits Iโ€™ve been using are several GSC ones plus Nids and Cawdor. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Iโ€™m pleased you like them. Iโ€™m a bit unsure where to stop actually haha. So much converting potential

Question ,do you have to make these figures up and is that your superglue/ bicarb filler that is showing up in the photos ?.
