HellGate – Part 26 – God Of Taint preview #7

This WIP post is allllll about pus, blood and guts.

One of the best and fun things to paint, in my opinion, is guts, gore and blood. I’m not sure what that says about me as a hobbyist and also as a person haha but I love it. It’s also quite a challenge to get it looking realistic and believable.

I went for a darker, older looking pus for a lot of the blisters and pimples as it looks a bit sicker in my opinion. My wife was so disgusted by it she couldn’t look at it and that made me very happy indeed haha. Mission achieved.

This is the top of the long tentacle arm

This is the underarm section. Looks like infected burns or something.

I basically used one of the contrast yellows from GW as a glaze over a light cream base. Then I added watered down blood for the blood god. Lastly I added a little crimson wash.

In the photo above you can see a bit of the purple guts

I’m very happy with the pus and as you can see the rest of the model is getting done too.

I have a couple of more details and then will make a start on the Monsters master/rider and his minion assistants.
