Well… It’s done.
I feel a great sense of achievement but at the same time I feel a little sad or maybe that’s a little dramatic, lets say a bit flat now it’s all done and dusted.
For those of you not sure what this is all about let me explain. Fembruary is a challenge that Alex from Leadballoony https://leadballoony.com/ has put out each year since 2018. It’s basically a celebration of FEMALE MINIATURES!
I’ve taken part each year. 1. Well it’s a great idea. 2. I have three daughters, a wife, a Mother and two sisters so I’ve been surrounded by females all my life haha.
This years submission, I’ve called “The Ark – Treehouse”, is the third and final installment to a Diorama Trilogy that tells, a visual, story of my three girls (Kyralee, Sianne and Willow) in a Zombie Apocalypse world.
In the first diorama I showed the girls battling zombies and holding their ground atop a VW Beetle.
The second diorama was set about ten years after the first and shows my three girls in a wasteland with zombies being held in a prison pit for scientific experiments.
Both were good fun to do and I am quite proud of them but for the final part of the trilogy I wanted to do two things.
1. Go BIGGER!
2. Make the zombie apoc world seem a whole lot more peaceful.
It’s been such an incredible journey, again I know that sounds a little dramatic haha but it really has been a whole lot of fun and it’s also been quite the learning curve. Many of you have been such a big help too which I have really, REALLY appreciated. I may not have gone with every idea but it certainly always gave me food for thought and often lead me to thinking completely different about something to what I’d originally planned.
So for this final installment (set about eight years after diorama number 2) we see my three girls at ease, at peace, in their treehouse. Being a treehouse it says that they’re still playing it safe, just in case, but at the same time they spend a lot of time on the ground too. They even keep animals and have a small workshop. That’s pretty relaxed if you ask me. The big difference with this Dio is that I’ve also included a model/figure to represent me and also one to represent my wife. Rest assured, my wife is much prettier than the model representing her on this diorama haha. She might read this one day haha.
So, lets take a look at “The Ark – Treehouse” but be warned LOTS OF PHOTOS TO BE SEEN HAHAHA
So that’s the treehouse and top section of the diorama. Lets take a look at the base now.
So there you go guys a nice, safe treehouse free from zombies…
OR IS IT???????????????????????????????????????????????
I will leave you with some shots of the whole diorama. As you’ll see it’s balanced on the railing of my own decking which is approximately four metres high off the ground. Needless to say my heart was in my throat the whole time I was taking photos BUT it was worth it to capture the best shots I could.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the WIP posts and of course the big reveal.
I am really pleased with the whole thing. Of course, as always, I can see where I could have done things better but learning is part of the fun too.
I’m off to put my feet up and have a few glasses of Spiced Rum and watch a wild west documentary.
My next little project will be a Lego one of all things because I feel I need to cleanse my palette before I get stuck into the CoffinWood Project.
OH and for those of you wondering how I lost the leg??? I played strip poker with some zombies and they took the whole thing a little too literally.
