Every good Turnip28 army needs a canon that is so clogged with mud that you’d be lucky if it even managed to spark let alone send a projectile into the approaching enemy lines.
Most of the time this particular canon likes to explode on the spot, often maiming the crew, but on the occasional good day a canon ball can be sent whistling through the bleak grey skies a good 30 to 40 yards.

I went with the same colour uniform as I did with the fodder (infantry) but this time I gave them red trouser stripes and cuffs just to identify them as artillery crew. Lots of mud and a mouldy and broken barrier and this piece was done. Pretty quick and easy.
It’s a warm one here today so it’s time to head off to the swimming pools followed by pizza at a lake.
I’m back to work Wednesday so just trying to make the most of the rest of the time I have off.
Cheers

I’m also seeing the end of my holidays looming fast – but there’s so much I still want to do! Nice work again on these guys, and they make a great little diorama in and of themselves too.

I’m lucky that I love my job but I love my holidays more haha. Thanks Dave, it’s a fun project to work on and all pretty simple too.

Nice work on these guys IRO and enjoy the good weather, all we’ve got is rain and wind followed by more of the same. ☹

Nicely done again mate, but what is this “sun” of which you speak? 🤔
Cheers Roger.

Sorry, I tend to forget my pasty brothers and sisters in the UK have no concept of the sun. 😉

Great atmosphere again. As I’m working on my own Winkie artillery I’m feeling like we’re on a similar wavelength. But, I can’t match your grim darkness! It’s very cool.

It’s funny you say that because I was thinking the same thing.

As others have said, this is a great artillery piece. It makes for quite a nice little scene and helps set the proper mood for Turnip28 I reckon! 🙂
